New Burpies and shoes on the way

Well I would love to show you all pictures of all the awesome stuff I made but umm it is all sold out. I know cool right! There is this awesome shop/gallery in Thorton PA, in between Philly and Chadsford that bought everything I made last week. Good news is people are calling to get stuff reserved, mostly booties and onesies and booties and burpies that match. So in a executive decision I used the funds from the sale to buy more fabric, lots of fun stuff and even a few fall prints and Christmas stuff, I am trying to gear up for fall/winter. I have my work cut out for me, but I am excited and when I get the fabric I will take some pictures.

Back on the Horse!!!

Well after a sewing vacation, I am back too it and at full force. I have spent the last month or so selling and I now have to start sewing. I have a few new things that are new and I will have them up for sale by the end of the week, here is progress picture. I am hoping to do some (3) craft/gift shows this fall. More pictures to come this is just to start!!!! Notice that there is only one shoe, I final stoped last night and still need to finish!!

It has really been a long time.

Well since last I wrote I have sold/gifted most of my inventory and am now left with some serious sewing projects. I have some help with sales now, my awesome mom in the Philly area is selling like she gets paid!There are a few gift shops up there that are caring the three packs and the booties. Booties, that is my job this weekend.. they take so long but are so cute and in high demand. I have to give the public what they want, right? So its my mission this weekend. I will show some pictures later on this week.

New Fabric and Cool Onesies

After much work I have another round of Burpies and MORE, the More this time is some very cool onesies, that I personal love love love. All items will be on my etsy page as well to sell. I sold so much stuff this past week in Media PA Thanks to my mom who is for sure my biggest help. More to come, I have two patterns for booties now and they will be finished by next week in two sizes! Yeah!

Oh did you want your name on that!!!!

I am an old fashion girl who loves technology these days. Every time I buy a new piece of technology I do have a flash back to the first Terminator movie where the robots take over the world and that only TV show my husband I both like is Battle Star Galactic, another show where the robots take over, but I am pretty sure there will never be killer embroidery machines so I think humanity can rest assured.

So this weekend the ease of an automatic embroidery machine was amazing. I was confused for about a minute when I realized it did not need a foot peddle. I use a wonderful 35 year old Bernina for my everyday sewing and love it so much, I had no idea what all the new stuff felt like.
So I watched the DVD and read the instructions and went to town. It was the first item I had every bought from the HSN and I am impressed. Now we are ready for some business, I am doing the burpies now and will do the booties soon. Seriously my full time life is getting in the way of my crafty me-time.

I will have my name and your name on freaking everything- in four days!!!

I have gone back and forth on this one, and owning your own little shop (by shop I mean the spare bedroom in my house)and only having been selling stuff for exactly a month this past sunday. I am so excited to announce that I just bought a EMBROIDERY MACHINE, the real tough heavy duty one that can do bags and burpies and all sorts of stuff plus I can also hook it up to my labtop and do cool designs along with basis names and it comes with 20 type styles!!!!

So I will update you all when I have it ready to go. Here is a list of what is going to be so cute....

1. A three pack of Burpies with a babies initals on them
2. Booties with initals on them
3. Baskets with names on the cloth liners with Burpies in them.

I soo can not wait, Emily and Julie may be as excited as I am.

To Market, To Market.....

"Ahh Snap" to quote Emily. thanks to my Burpies' Hot Mama's ( no really I am going to trade mark that name) using the Burpies in the G'boro I have got some more requests for business now from a retailer, so look out for the billboard bus advertisements!! I kid but I am having so much fun and loving all the attention (who me, really) and a million thanks to all that have bought Burpies and More and to those who will in the future, bring it on. Here are some pictures, late last night when I was packing up stuff to show today. The Printery in Greensboro did a wonderful job with my cards, Chris and Scott Hill are super printers.

seriously I could eat his feet up, they are so cute. I will make size 6-9 months next to keep the boy in style. Right now I only am making 0-6 month sizes.

he looks like a man in his saturday clothes. just hanging out, gona read the paper, do some yard work, watch the NCAA games. just a typical Saturday with his dad.

I read a lot of blogs and I have noticed the inner dialog that people have is extremely funny and very nice for them, see I do not have that. My brain and wants work like me driving, fast, not really paying attention and there is a real person in the passenger seat tell me I am crazy.

so I am sorry for not doing anything this weeekend that was fun, like go to a movie, but I do have these really freaking cute shoes to boot, all puns intended, infact if I love that our language allows for us to call things booties.

I got this great idea for making baby botties from Emily and off I went like a whirring dervish on a tear. ( my mom laughs every time I tell her something crazy I did or am doing like, the woman is never surprised, scared but never surprised)

okay so I thought well, I love doing the ensemble line sewing project, ( I loved to play factory as a kid, no joke I was in love with the industrial revolution, so weird I know) you know do each step for each piece all in a row then move on so I spent the entire weekend doing just that, serious same stretchy pants all weekend with a shower break for a b-day party and church (my mother in laws) okay back to me. So here are some pictures, I finally stopped last night because my special order felt ( not a choking hazed) buttons are in the mail and I should get them tomorrow. But here are pictures of my favorite model and the line of shoes on my couch.

I should have them all done and up on the Etsy website by Tuesday, they will be $12 and 2 dollars for regular shipping.

72 hours of sewing- HEAVEN

So my super awesome boss let everyone go home early on Friday so I was able to do a bunch of household stuff then so my Saturday was spent in my glorified PJ's ( also know as yoga pants) sewing and cutting and sewing, I have certain background noises I have to listen too, I always have. In college writing papers had to be done to Led Zeppelin, the same four songs repeated. Cleaning out my car has to be done to an oldies station, and sewing has to be done to two movies it always has, Amelie and Chocolate. I am a creature of habit I confess.
And I set up the spare bedroom as the official sewing headquarters/Burpies & More corporate office.
I will post all the new items I have worked on this weekend tonight on the etsy account, I have had a ton of orders thanks to my totally awesome Hot Mommies Friends, so I have had to replenish my Burpies.

I am most excite about the coolest fabric that I turned into baby blankets with natural battling and its super soft flannel. so cute.

I ran home after work yesterday in a tizzy, because I got two huge orders of fabric from my two new fav. websites, fat quaters and fabric.com, Over 30 yards of all types of fabric, really cool mod and retro stuff and all sorts of cool kid prints. Even more cool is the fact that I got an order on the etsy account from someone in MN, I called everyone I know like MN is around the world but it felt that way. I put all the fabric and about 50 burp clothes in the wash and after four loads I dried them and then organized.
I clearly will be spending the weekend ironing. But am so excited I am thinking of taking tomorrow off to get a head start on it. So by Monday I will have a ton more stuff on the website to sell. But more importantly the baby blankets will make a showing this week!!!!!

Diva, Diva, Diva

Thanks to the input of Julie and Emily the Burpies & More etsy site is all changed around. I hope that it is more user friendly now. More exciting is that I got the first non-family related sale yesterday from Melissa. lets briefly talk about how excited I was, soo excited. Well now its back to my real job but I have a huge shipment of fabric coming tonight from two different fabric stores on in California and one in Texas, so I can not wait to take some pictures to post of all the cool stuff coming soon to Burpies & More.

So one Saturday night about three weeks ago I a woke with an idea to start making some cool baby stuff that was all of the below:

cool, funky, make you laugh, super cute, fun, soft and totally memorable. Cause we all look back a can remember the smell of feel of something we had as a baby/kid and loved it. I know a few adults that still have some issues with 20 year old college tees for the same reason, but who am I to judge.

So I started making some stuff and Burpies & More was created, thanks to the helpful advice of my creative sidekicks (Emily and Leigh) I started creating and designing and now as of yesterday selling.

Then I thought that people would like to know (while surfing at work) what I was up too, other than my mom who is always wondering that cause I never return her calls.

Below are the first pictures of products, two week's into the biz, My husband totally rocked the picture taking/staging I think he should of been a stage hand on Broadway or something, there nothing like a bosses hetro-man yelling and moving baskets around.
